10 Projects in 1 Week

I recently took a week off from work to build 10 web apps. A year ago, this probably would’ve taken me months to do, but with Replit I was able to churn out an average of 2 apps per day.

Using Replit

Of course AI agents are amazing, and I know a lot of people are building with Cursor, but I really love using Replit because it also sets up the initial project structure and handles deployment. Having recently done all of this on my own for Prepstack, I was relieved to not have to worry about any of these details and get straight to building.

My biggest piece of advice currently is this: Ask the agent to do as few things as possible, and be specific. If you ask it to make 5 changes, it might make 4 and then get one wrong. Then you have to roll back all 5 changes.

Building all day was more mentally exhausting than I expected; I didn’t realize how much meetings break up the day mentally and actually give your brain a break by focusing on different things. Instead I was focusing for 4 hours on 1 thing, then 4 hours on another thing.

Templatizing your projects

There are a lot of things that are needed for every app:

Domain name
App name
Google Analytics
SEO optimization
Icons and thumbnails
Paywall (eventually)

I’m starting to put together a playbook to document these steps, so I can rinse and repeat.

The Age of Ideas Philosophy

At some point during the week a lightbulb went off. I realized that I don’t need to spend a year trying to build a million dollar app. AI makes it possible to build things in days, hours even. So, what’s keeping me from building lots and lots of apps, and seeing what sticks? And if I can automate 80% of it with AI, what’s keeping me from running 10 businesses?

I truly believe we have entered The Age of Ideas.
